2008-2009 Officers:

Officers’ Reports:

  • 2008-2009 School Year Budget was reviewed and approved.
  • Birthday Pencils were purchased for the school.
  • Kindergarten Shirts were ordered.
  • New and transfer students shirts were ordered.
  • New Student Orientation is Thursday August 21st, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.
  • Kindergarten Orientation is Thursday August 21st, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. and Friday August 22nd, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.
  • Pie sale will replace the Basket raffle and will benefit the Accelerated Reading Program.
  • PTO forms for memberships, questions and answers about PTO will be placed on tables during orientation and Meet the Teacher Night.  
  • Photos of the officers and committee chairpersons were taken and will be placed on the PTO website.

Old Business:

  • Supplies for Ice Cream Social- Tiffany is working with the Manager of Schwans to order the ice cream and will contact Rita and Dara with the price quote on 8/18/08. Dara will check into a local supply store to price other supplies.

New Business:

  • The attending members decided on the Teacher appreciation gift. Rita will check with Mrs. Bush to gather a total for the number of teachers.
  • Templates for useful forms will be added to the PTO website for direct access.
  • Santa’s Workshop- Julie will coordinate with Traci to complete signature cards.
  • The use of a MAC card by Traci Barnes to obtain funds was discussed and approved by the attending members.
  • New Teachers will receive a $100.00 welcome gift and will also be encouraged to apply for the $50.00 mini grant. Teachers that did not receive funds last year will receive this year.
  • PTO newsletter will be sent out the second week of school.

Announcements:

  • SSMESS Decal Stickers were ordered and will be available for purchase on Thursday September 11th, 2008 at the Meet the Teacher night.
  • SSMESS clothes will be placed on clearance and available for purchase on Thursday September 11th, 2008 at the Meet the Teacher Night.
  • New Updates will be added to the PTO website this year. PTO meeting minutes and newsletter will be included.

             

  • Next PTO Executive meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. (Officers- Plan for “Meet the Teacher Night”)
