What is PTO?
South St. Marys St. Elementary School
Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO) is a non profit organization made
up of parents and teachers. The PTO sponsors several events
and fundraisers during the school year to help provide rich
educational opportunities for all the children at our school.
PTO also provides a forum for parents to get involved with their
child’s education and to help support the teachers in a positive and
well informed atmosphere. Let us be your link with the
teachers and administration.
How Do I Join PTO?
On Thursday, September 11th at “Meet the
Teacher Night” fill out a membership form at the PTO table.
The PTO table will be located in front of the gym.
When are Meetings Held?
Meetings are held on a Tuesday of each
month of the school year at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium.
Check the website www.ssmpto.org
and read the newsletters that are sent home for exact dates.
Everyone is welcome to attend!
How Can I Help?
We have several volunteer opportunities
if you would like to donate some of your time. Some activities
can be done at home, while others can be done during special events
at the school. Fill out the PTO membership form and let us
know your interests and when you can help.
Why Does PTO Raise Money?
PTO contributes its funds to many school
activities and needed materials, such as the Ice Cream Social,
Family Fun Nights, AR Rewards, Field Trips, Olympic Games, Teacher
Mini-Grants,
Communication Folders, and many more!
